New display case revealed...da da daaah....

I think this display case is a perfect mix of fiction that appeals to Eddie (lovely colleague and fiction buyer) and I. We have both selected books for inclusion (Eddie is very skilled at finding awesome, bonkers, wonderful fiction), and I'm really pleased with it. Show it some love people! (You can play guess who chose what as well if you like!)

A flash fiction display case! How cool?

I had never heard of Tender Buttons, but sheez, what an intriguing looking book. Gonna have to buy a copy for myself. Lydia Davis and Amy Hempel, of course. Barthelme looks magnificent.

An enticing middle section eh? Tania Hershman (aka queen of flash), Sum (which is selling heaps of copies)and Today I Wrote Nothing by Daniil Kharms (and looks like a must read to me.)

The final shelf has Dave Eggers - How we are Hungry, Raymond Queneau's Exercises in Style and The Black Sheep and Other Fables by Augusto Monterroso.

So, what do you think? Looks good, right?

P.S Since piccy taken we have sold out of Queneau and added Etgar Keret.

This is why I have not gone into the city for ages - as soon as I see displays like this - though, ahem, none I have ever seen have, ahem, ever emulated your distinct style, blah, blah toady blah - I always want to buy more books!

I knew it was a display of flash fiction all along...erm, ahem...

Oh now that is very very exciting! And to see me in the midst of those fabulous writers - Lydia Davis, Amy Hempel, Barthelme - and some I have never heard of but will immediately seek out! Sara, you ARE the best. Truly. And this bears out my theory that 2010 is going to be the Year of Flash Fiction. Let's make it happen, eh?

Oh fantastic. I thought maybe they'd sold out of White Road for the other shelf - ha!! I knew it would be somewhere.

Looks fab! I'm sure some customers looking for new ideas will really appreciate it. Amy Hempel is fab! I don't have that particular book, so will look out for it.

Also lurve the glam new blog-look missus.

Raymond Queneau 'SOLD OUT'? Ohh, you've made the day of this sad old bat, Sarah, as I thought I was the only Anglophone who still read him (and God knows I'm isolated enough as it is!) - thank you.
Wonderful blog. Do so wish you well, with health, happiness and success (latter largely involves even larger doses of luck, I am convinced).

Thanks for all the comments peeps. For some reason I have only just seen them. Glad you all like the new Flash display. I'm really excited at being able to showcase a whole different range of books.

Pleased to have made you happy Minnie, and thanks for dropping by with such lovely good wishes. Raymond Queneau is now back in stock!

Oh, and thanks Emma for the bloggy award thing.
