I have decided...

...that David Vann's "Legend of a Suicide" and Breece D'J Pancake's "Collected Stories" make perfect partners: cream/cream, turtle/fox, suicide/suicide, sense of place/sense of place, incredible prose/incredible prose.

Excellent. Good to see Pancake love hitting Waterstones. I read Trilobites the other day for what must be the umpteenth time. Love that. Just amazing that it's never appeared in either volume of the American short stories edited by Richard Ford.
